Back on Cloverpatch Trail Work Party

  • Trans-Cascadia Excursions 001 N. Fork Road Westfir, OR 97462 United States (map)

Come swing a tool with us this weekend and help revive the switchbacks on Cloverpatch trail!

As the Spring season winds down, we're  working on getting trails ready for the summer season. For this trail work party, we'll be returning to Cloverpatch to work on a few of the switchbacks and drainage on the classic Cloverpatch descent through the meadow. The first project is a switchback we spent some time improving last fall. Over the winter, the trail settled in - so we need to get a bit of fill to build it up. We'll also be widening and improving the switchback below that one. Finally, the trail has a lot of cupping so we'll add some nice deep drain dips to help improve drainage.

Cloverpatch is a key part of the ATCA loop and one of the more popular "backcountry" trails in our network. We'd love your help getting this trail ready for the 2024 season!

Lightweight long sleeve shirts are recommended and bring plenty of water. We will provide tools and hard hats for anyone who doesn't have them.

NOTE: This location is known to have patches of poison oak.

IF YOU'RE NEW TO VOLUNTEERING ON THE WILLAMETTE NATIONAL FOREST: Please create a volunteer profile and sign into the WNF Cascade Volunteers volunteer tracking system. You can do this by heading over to the CV volunteer page and creating your own account here: https://bit.ly/3ZCqon4 - please add Oakridge Trails Alliance as your primary organization affiliation in the West Cascades volunteer group. This will help us track volunteer matching hours for our grant reporting purposes. You should be able to register for this work party from a list of public volunteer opportunities once you’re in the system. If for some reason there is already an account registered under your email, we've likely already got you in the system, and you don't need to do anything else - we will manually enter your hours after each work party. Thank you for your time and efforts!
