First Aid & CPR for Trails Stewards

Oregon Trails Coalition and Oakridge Trails Alliance are pleased to be partnering with U.S. Forest Service Region 6, Bureau of Land Management OR-WA Office, Clackamas Community College, and other partners to make available a specialized first aid and CPR certification program for staff and volunteers performing trails stewardship activities on our public lands.

This course was designed to meet the needs of volunteers and agency personnel that work in the woods. The training offered is meant for trail stewardship staff and volunteers serving as crew leaders and/or pursuing sawyer certification for trail work conducted on public lands. It differs from standard workplace first aid and CPR in that it addresses the unique situations and environments that volunteer trail workers, forest recreation staff, foresters and wildland firefighters might encounter. This is an introductory course that introduces and develops core skills to help injured or sick people in backcountry situations. This course also includes CPR and AED training and certification.

In an effort to provide an inclusive educational experience for all our volunteers, this course is being offered on a pay-as-you-are-able basis. PLEASE consider our ability to offer these classes in the future when you choose your payment option, so that we may continue to serve everyone who benefits from this knowledge when volunteering or recreating outdoors. We thank you for your commitment to safe and enjoyable outdoor recreation for everyone!
